CWS 2024: Florida-Kentucky moved to Wednesday morning due to weather

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Tuesday night’s College World Series game has been postponed due to severe weather anticipated in Omaha.

The elimination matchup between Florida and Kentucky that was originally scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m. will now be played Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Rain likely Tuesday with potential for severe storms

Tuesday is a 6 First Alert Weather Day thanks to a cold front slowly moving in from the northwest later this afternoon.

Storms are expected to roll through the Omaha metro throughout the evening Tuesday, starting at around 4 p.m. and lasting into the early morning hours Wednesday. Some storms could become severe, with heavy rain, small hail and high wind gusts being the main concerns.

The other two games scheduled for Wednesday have been pushed back an hour as a result. Tennessee will play the winner of Tuesday’s Florida State-North Carolina matchup at 2 p.m., followed by Texas A&M vs. the winner of Florida-Kentucky at approximately 7 p.m.
