6 First Alert Weather Days Monday through Wednesday
Our weather team has called for 6 First Alert Weather Days due to a risk of widespread frost and freeze Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Meteorologist Jaret Lansford reports that Monday is off to a frosty start with temperatures in the low to mid 30s.
“Even as the day goes on, we will stay cooler than many of our recent days as we top out near 60 degrees,” Lansford says. “Unlike yesterday, the wind will stay light through the day with sunshine overhead.”
Police investigating fatal crash in Central Omaha
Omaha Police say they are investigating a crash that killed a man Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened on Blondo Street and Keystone Drive, near Central Omaha.
Stanley Wilder, 69, was moving eastbound and lost control of his pickup, crossing into the westbound lanes.
Wilder’s truck then struck another truck, left the road, rolled, and then struck a fence and a parked car.
He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Report shows new weekly gas prices in Omaha
Average gas prices in Omaha have fallen 5.3 cents per gallon in the last week.
A GasBuddy price report found that gas is now averaging $2.84 a gallon on Monday. They surveyed 300 stations in the metro.
“Prices in Omaha are 7.0 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 56.8 cents per gallon lower than a year ago,” GasBuddy says.

Matt Rhule speaks with media ahead of Indiana game
Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule is holding his weekly press conference Monday following a bye week.
This will be the 5-1 Huskers' second road game of the season, as they travel to Bloomington, Indiana to take on the Hoosiers.
6 News Sports' Grace Boyles reports that the undefeated Hoosiers will also be coming off their first bye week of the season.
Kickoff for Saturday’s game is set for 11 a.m. CT and will be Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff game.

Decision 2024: Latest with Trump, Harris campaigns
The Harris campaign announced Nebraska native Governor Tim Walz will be making a stop in Omaha on Saturday.
It is Walz’s second trip to the metro this election season, as he visited La Vista’s Astro Theatre in Aug.
Meanwhile, Vice President Harris is focusing on laying out a new plan that empowers Black men, as she works to gain their votes.
Former President Donald Trump has called for the addition of 10,000 Border Patrol agents after he derailed a bipartisan bill earlier this year, AP reports.
“Trump has made illegal immigration the focus of his campaign and blamed Vice President Kamala Harris for a record spike in unauthorized crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border," AP says.
United States to aid in defense against Iran
AP reports that an Israeli strike on a hospital tent camp in Gaza killed four people and ignited a fire that left more than two dozen with severe burns.
“Israel is still carrying out near-daily strikes across the Gaza Strip more than a year into the war, and has been waging a major ground assault in the north, where it says militants have regrouped,” AP says.
The Pentagon has said that the U.S. will send a missile defense system to Israel to aid in their defense against Iran.
The deployment of a THAAD battery was authorized at the direction of President Biden, according to AP.
