Pilot dies as small plane crashes after taking off from Norfolk airport

NORFOLK, Neb. (KOLN) - The pilot of a small airplane was killed in a crash in northeast Nebraska on Monday.
Norfolk police officers and firefighters, along with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a plane crash near Karl Stefen Airport around 7:40 p.m. Emergency responders found that a twin-engine airplane had crashed shortly after take-off. The pilot was pronounced dead at the scene.
Federal aviation authorities were contacted to assist in the investigation. The name of the pilot has not been released.
