Serena Williams recovering after having ‘grapefruit-size’ cyst removed

(CNN) - Tennis star Serena Williams is recovering after having a large cyst removed from her neck.
The 23-time grand slam singles champion posted to social media platform TikTok to give an update on the procedure, saying that the cyst was the size of a grapefruit.
Williams says she first noticed a “big mass” on her neck back in May.
After a number of tests, she learned it was non-cancerous and was given the option to have it removed.
Due to the fact that it was still growing, the 43-year-old decided to move forward with surgery.
Post-surgery, Williams says she is grateful and healthy.
