OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The warm pattern has officially broken this weekend... Sunday highs only made it into the low 60s and upper 50s and the chilliest air of the season settles in the next three mornings. We’ve made Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 6 First Alert Weather Days because of the risk for a widespread frost and freeze.

Plan to harvest your gardens this weekend ahead of the concern for cold weather. Exposed pipes and underground lines should be ok, so there is no rush to blow out sprinkler lines until temperatures begin to consistently dip into the upper 20s for several hours in the morning.

Some may dip below freezing Monday morning with Freeze Warnings in place NW of the Metro, the rest see a frost...

This is about on track for a first frost in the Omaha Metro... Eppley saw its first frost of the season on October 7th, but most of the Metro did not. The average first frost is October 6th for Omaha. The first freeze usually happens on October 14th.

Tuesday originally brought a concern for a widespread freeze but overnight clouds likely keep morning lows a bit too warm. We’ll still see a risk for a frost. By Wednesday AM the risk for a widespread freeze is higher and most will see their first freeze by this point.

We’ll start to warm back up from here... the start of the work week keeps highs in the low 60s to upper 50s... we’ll be back to the 70s by Thursday with a welcome chance for rain Friday night into Saturday.
