Bond set at $1 million for Lincoln man accused of sexually assaulting child under 12

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Lincoln man charged with sexually assaulting a child made his first court appearance Friday, appearing via Zoom from the Lancaster County Jail.

Justin Whitlock, 43, was charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child. The victim was under 12 years old when the alleged assault occurred on or around Aug. 4, according to court documents.

His bond was set at 10% of $1 million, with his next court appearance scheduled for Nov. 14.

If convicted, Whitlock faces a minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life.
