Sheriff’s offices recover over $15,000 of stolen items in southern Nebraska

FRANKLIN, Neb. (KSNB) - The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Harlan County Sheriff’s Office recovered over $15,000 of stolen items on Friday.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received information of a burglary that had occurred in Franklin at Goldean’s Collectables on Sept. 7. A second burglary was reported from the same location on Sept. 9, at which time the scene was again processed and several items were submitted to the Nebraska State Patrol lab for testing.
As a result of the investigation a search was conducted on a residence in Naponee where one of the suspects had been staying. Deputies recovered a large amount of stolen property that had been taken from multiple burglaries in Franklin and Harlan counties.
One suspect was arrested and is being housed in the Franklin County Jail.
On Friday, Franklin County deputies and Harlan County deputies conducted a search in Alma related to the burglary in Franklin and two burglaries in Harlan County. Several stolen items were recovered and a suspect was arrested. The second suspect is being housed in the Harlan County Jail.
Another search warrant was executed in Franklin, which stolen property was recovered.
At this time over $15,000 of stolen property has been recovered and reports are being turned over to the respective county attorneys for additional charges.
