LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Two Omaha men were arrested Wednesday in connection with a downtown Lincoln shooting that left one man dead.

Lincoln Police arrested Kavion Wright, 23, on suspicion of first-degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and two counts of second-degree assault.

Investigators also arrested Gregory Bahati, 30, on suspicion of aiding and abetting first-degree murder, aiding and abetting use of a firearm to commit a felony, and two counts of aiding and abetting second-degree assault.

Both men had active arrest warrants issued the day before their arrests, according to LPD.

On Sept. 8, officers responded to a fight outside a bar near North 11th and O streets, where they found two men with gunshot wounds. Both received emergency treatment.

Police said 24-year-old Saiveon Hopkins died hours later at the hospital, while the second victim, a 40-year-old Lincoln man, was last known to be in stable condition.

Assistant Chief Jason Stille said the main aggressor was assaulting people, which led to fights and gunfire. LPD is still investigating the events that led to the shooting.
