OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The City of Omaha will again have a stake in March Madness in 2027.

NCAA said Wednesday that it had selected Creighton University to host the first and second rounds of its men’s basketball tournament in three years. Dates for those games at CHI Health Center arena have not yet been determined, but Creighton said in a news release that they would fall between March 18-20 or 19-21.

“Information regarding tickets for the event will be released at a much later date,” the release states.

First- and second-round events were held at the home of the Creighton Bluejays in 2008, 2012, 2015, and 2024. CHI Health Center was also set to host opening weekend rounds of the 2020 NCAA Tournament before the tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The arena was also the site of the NCAA Midwest Regional in 2018.

Bidding for the 2027 NCAA championships started last October.
