Around 6:30 a.m., officers with the Missouri Valley Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a tanker with no headlights on near 4th and Erie Street. The truck, driven by Jordan, fled eastbound on Highway 30 and a pursuit ensued.

Police said Jordan maneuvered the tanker through a residential neighborhood before stopping in a cornfield to turn around and eventually getting on Interstate 29 south toward Council Bluffs. Finally, officers deployed stop sticks and Jordan was taken into custody without incident.

Throughout the pursuit, police say Jordan swerved in and out of traffic, even running one car off the road, but no injuries were reported during the entire incident.

Missouri Valley Police told 6 News the keys were in the tanker and the doors were unlocked when Jordan stole the vehicle and that he has no connection to the company the truck belongs to.
