Shooting in Council Bluffs injures 14-year-old boy
Police working to identify two male suspects
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Council Bluffs Police are asking for the public’s help after a shooting Thursday evening that injured a 14-year-old boy.
Officers were called to the area of East Pierce and South 1st Streets shortly after 7 p.m.
Police say they located the victim with a gunshot wound in his leg. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injures.
An initial investigation showed that the 14-year-old, as well as another boy, were approached by two men at east Pierce and Grace Streets.
“During the confrontation, one of the male suspects produced a handgun and shot the victim once in the leg,” police say in a release.
Police say they are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspects. They were reportedly walking in the north and east areas of downtown Council Bluffs.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
