Suspect in fatal South Omaha hit-and-run arrested in Lincoln

Omaha Police have released a statement saying the the driver of the truck in a fatal hit-and-run has been arrested Saturday.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha Police have released a statement saying the the driver of the truck in a fatal hit-and-run has been arrested Saturday.

According to the statement, a warrant was issued for Christopher Dunning, 31, for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident resulting in death.

The statement says that Dunning was located in a Lincoln residence by Lincoln Police, and has since been booked at Lancaster County Corrections.

Walter Tighe, 89, was crossing West Center Road from north to south when a silver truck struck him while headed west near 35th Avenue.

Medics declared Tighe dead the the scene.
