OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - One of the founding family members of Kohll’s Pharmacy has died.

Marvin Kohll, who worked for his parents delivering prescriptions out of the original family pharmacy before becoming a pharmacist himself, died last week at age 93, "leaving behind a lasting legacy of service and dedication," a letter from the Kohll family.

He was born in Omaha in 1930, and "grew up with a strong work ethic and a commitment to his family’s pharmacy," the letter states.

"Marvin was known for his relentless hard work, often closing the pharmacy late into the night, and for his ability to lead with quiet strength and integrity," the family letter says. "...Despite his busy schedule, Marvin always found time to care for his family and was a pillar of support for everyone around him."

A graduate of Omaha Central High School, Kohll obtained his degree in pharmacy from the University of Nebraska. He also served in Germany during the Korean War, working for an Army hospital.

When he was 27 years old, he took over Kohll’s Pharmacy after the sudden death of his father in 1957.

"He expanded the business alongside his brother, Jerry, ensuring that Kohll’s Pharmacy became a trusted name in the community," according to the pharmacy letter.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, with internment at Temple Israel Cemetery in Omaha.

Marvin’s dedication to the business, his employees, and the community was unparalleled.

Marvin was known for his relentless hard work, often closing the pharmacy late into the night, and for his ability to lead with quiet strength and integrity. He expanded the business alongside his brother Jerry, ensuring that Kohll’s Pharmacy became a trusted name in the community. Despite his busy schedule, Marvin always found time to care for his family and was a pillar of support for everyone around him.

His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched and the values he instilled in his family and business. We are grateful for the decades we had with him and for the example he set for all of us. Marvin passed away peacefully at the age of 93, leaving behind a lasting legacy of service and dedication.
