Rusty’s First Alert Forecast - Warm Friday heading into a weekend that cools down
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - It’s a very mild morning in the 50s and 60s as you head out to start your Friday. We’ll take that mild start and turn it into another very warm October afternoon. Highs in the mid 80s are likely for most of the area, a good 15-20 degrees above average.
There won’t be much of a breeze today but it will switch from the SW to the north by the end of the day. This will get a gradual cooling trend going through the weekend. Highs near 80 on Saturday will cool to the upper 60s by Sunday afternoon.
This leads us into the pair of 6 First Alert Weather Days we have in the forecast for Monday & Tuesday morning. The first widespread frost and/or light freeze of the season for many is coming.
Temperatures will struggle to warm each afternoon as well with highs in the lower 60s. This will be the first time we’ll end up below average in the afternoon since October 1st.
A warming trend is likely heading into next weekend with the first noticeable rain chance we’ve seen in a while still holding on. Friday night into Saturday brings that potential.
