Bellevue Police still asking for help in finding ‘armed & dangerous’ shooting suspect

Bellevue Police are still searching for a shooting suspect they believe could be armed and dangerous.

BELLEVUE, Neb. (WOWT) - Authorities in Bellevue are again asking the public for help finding a man believed to be armed and dangerous.

Di’Quarius Merritt, 29, is wanted on charges of first-degree assault, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and prohibited possession of a gun.

Merritt is a suspect in a shooting at a dollar store in Bellevue on Aug. 28. BPD said that officers responding to the Family Dollar near 25th Street and Chandler Road found a 29-year-old man at the scene who had been shot in the leg.

An investigation led police to believe Merritt shot the victim and then fled on foot. According to BPD, Merritt is a 5-foot-10, 130-pound Black male with brown eyes and black hair. Authorities believe he may have cut his dreadlocks.
