Bluejays head volleyball coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth signs extension
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Creighton announced volleyball coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth signed a long-term contract extension. The university will not disclose the terms of the new contract.
In Booth’s 21 years at the helm of the Creighton’s volleyball program, the Jays have soared to unprecedented heights. The Bluejays are 470-189 under Booth and have won 11 regular-season conference titles, including 10 straight BIG EAST Conference titles.
The Jays’ success has extended to the postseason as well. Booth has led CU to 10 conference tournament crowns, winning one in the Missouri Valley Conference while winning nine of the past 10 BIG EAST Tournaments. Under Booth, the Jays have made 13 NCAA tournament appearances including 12 in a row. Additionally, the Lincoln native was named National Coach of the Year three times.
Booth is also very active in the national volleyball community. Currently, Booth is serving as the President of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and is one of 17 members of the AVCA Board of Directors.
