LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The voice of the Huskers, Greg Sharpe, will not be calling Friday night’s Nebraska vs. Illinois football game.

Sharpe’s co-host, Jessica Coody, announced the news during Thursday’s Sports Nightly show. Sharpe is undergoing a medical procedure related to his cancer diagnosis, which he revealed in mid-April.

Coody expressed hope that Sharpe will return to Sports Nightly next week and be ready for the Nebraska vs. Purdue game.

Bill Doleman will step in to call the 400th consecutive sellout game.

Night Beat: Two arrested out of state for Lincoln shooting in early September, teen in custody for bringing gun to football game, and more.
