Aid available for residents impacted by April 26-27 severe weather
FEMA is opening three disaster recovery centers across Iowa, including one in Pottawattamie County.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) - A FEMA disaster recovery center is opening in Pottawattamie County from July 8th to July 13th.

Funding is available for local homeowners and renters affected by the April 26-27 tornadoes and storms. FEMA has set up these centers to provide one-to-one help completing disaster aid applications or check on status of those already filed.

The U.S. Small Business Administration will also be there to give guidance on their available services and assistance programs.

Services are available at Charles E. Lakin Human Services Campus, 815 N. 16th St. in Council Bluffs. The center is open until 1-6 p.m. on Monday and from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. through Saturday.

FEMA is also opening a recovery center in Polk county.
