OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha Public Works Director Bob Stubbe resigned as a member of the Omaha Streetcar Authority, a release said Tuesday.

Stubbe’s resignation comes in light of a resolution to delegate the management of contracts for the design and streetcar system to the Public Works Director, according to the statement.

In a letter written to Mayor Stothert, Stubbe said that his being on the board is a conflict of interest because of this resolution. Stubbe’s resignation is effective Tuesday.

Mayor Stothert has appointed Steve Jensen to the Authority in Stubbe’s place. Jensen is currently a member of Mayor Stothert’s economic development team.
