Omaha Police investigating separate robberies Thursday morning

Police are asking for tips regarding two separate gas station robberies that occurred in Midtown Omaha less than five hours apart Thursday morning.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha Police are investigating a pair of gas station robberies in Midtown that happened just five hours apart Thursday morning.

Around 1:20 a.m., officers responded to the Quik Trip on the corner of Saddle Creek Road and Leavenworth Street. A store employee told police that an unknown Black male jumped across the counter and stole cash from the register before leaving in a dark-colored sedan.

Less than five hours later, officers were called to the Cuming Food Mart near 40th and Cuming Street for another robbery. A witness stated that an unknown Black male wearing a mask entered the store, pulled a knife and demanded money from the counter before taking the cash and fleeing on foot.

Both investigations are ongoing, and authorities are asking for the public’s help.
