OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Authorities in the Omaha metro need the public’s help in searching for thieves suspected of stealing tornado recovery supplies.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office posted to social media Thursday a picture of a vehicle with ladders strapped to the top hauling a flatbed trailer carrying what appears to be steel beams and other construction supplies.

The surveillance photo was taken near 209th and Hartman Avenue, just north of Elkhorn — an area which suffered severe damage in April’s Arbor Day tornado outbreak that devastated communities across the heartland.

Anyone who recognizes the vehicle or knows its owner is urged to contact the DCSO Tip Line at 402-444-6000.
