BIOGRAPHY

Richard Sherwood began playing piano at age 10 and performing at age 14. He received a BA in piano and composition from Combs College of Music and also studied TV and Film from Berklee School of Music. He studied jazz improvisation, composition and arranging with world class jazz pianist-composer, Jimmy Amadie.

His diverse background draws from classical, jazz and rock genres. His interests include writing and arranging for film, TV, commercials and  original CD’s.

Richard wrote, arranged & produced theme music for Showtime Enterprises at Las Vegas trade shows. He also composed and arranged the 76’ers theme song, “Here Come the Sixers.” He is currently composing music for the soon to be released full length motion picture, “Blind Visions.” (see trailer)

In addition to his musical education, he has a BA in Psychology from La Salle University and a Masters in Social Science from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Policy and Social Research. Studies also included a 3 year post-graduate at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia. His professional study of the human personality helps in creating the utmost emotional experience while composing.
